Borough Buddha: Monochro Monster at Ouchi Gallery. An exhibition of Japanese artist Chocolate Pencil’s recent work is on display this week at Brooklyn’s Ouchi Gallery. This evening’s opening reception will include a chance to win a limited edition Chocolate Pencil-designed tee and feature live painting by the Osaka University of Art graduate, as well as a musical performance by Leon Marin, a Gowanus Housing resident garnering acclaim as one of New York City’s rapidly rising emcees.

Marin’s Beyond Limitations has been heavily downloaded since its release in January and the blossoming young talent has been on his grind, participating in the recent Notorious Cypher, appearing at Club Pyramid and laying down verses on a slew of singles alongside fellow LivLife Productions team members and other up-and-comers. Listen to Marin’s work on this lush, brand new track from Harlem’s Ty Hickson, “Look Around You” and come down to Ouchi Gallery tonight for art, music and more!

Monochrome Monster is at Ouchi Gallery through Sunday April 15. Opening reception Tuesday April 10 at 7 pm, 170 Tillary Street, Suite 507, Brooklyn NY 11201 /; phone: 347 987-4606
