Borough Buddha: Heavy D(iscussion) at Brooklyn Historical Society. Born Dwight Arrington Myers in Jamaica, Heavy D passed away in November of last year at the age of 44, due to complications arising from a blood clot in his lung. April’s Bodega Education Initiative honors the influential artist with a panel discussion. Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival Executive Director Wes Jackson, DJ Marley Marl and “surprise guests” will participate.
